In California, 1,502 new cases of the coronavirus were reported Monday, May 24, according to end-of-day totals on public health websites, bringing the total number of cases so far to 3,751,231.
There were 13 new deaths reported statewide Monday for a total of 62,612 people who have died from COVID-19.
The state reported 47 fewer hospitalizations from the previous day, decreasing the total hospitalizations of those infected with the coronavirus to 1,466.
According to the California Department of Public Health, 35.9 million vaccine doses have been administered in the state and 41.1% of residents are now fully vaccinated.
